Al Quds and Palestine. A land of promise, Prophethood and boundless blessing. Rich in history, vibrant in culture and vast in its contribution to human civilisation. A land mostly of faith, of peace and of prosperity, but also on occasion marred by affliction. This course will seek to weave together the multi-faceted threads of the religious, cultural, social and political past which intertwined to produce a brilliant tapestry of human interaction and endeavour in these precious lands. We inhabit now a complex reality that cannot be truly grasped unless we embark on a journey into the ancient past and map out a path to our present. We must listen to the testimony of this land, hear the voices of its heroes and learn from the mistakes of its villains. The future depends upon a comprehension of the past. Let history be your ultimate teacher for a land that deserves your care.
