A Classical Arabic course for non-Arabic speakers designed to teach the fundamentals of the Arabic language with a focus on Classical Arabic used in literature, religious texts (Quran & Hadith), and conversation in the Arabic speaking world.
The First Stage of the course focuses on reading and writing Arabic, developing basic vocabulary enabling students to start forming simple sentences. As well as developing basic conversation skills.
Vocabulary expansion is a continuous aspect of the course. Students acquire a range of vocabulary related to various topics, including greetings, numbers, family, food, travel, shopping, and daily life. They practice using this vocabulary in conversation, writing exercises, and reading assignments.
Reading and comprehension play a crucial role in the course. Students are exposed to authentic Classical Arabic texts. They learn strategies to decipher and understand these texts, building their reading skills, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Listening and speaking skills are also emphasized. Through audio materials, dialogues, and interactive activities, students practice listening to spoken Arabic and develop their ability to understand and respond appropriately.
Speaking exercises focus on pronunciation, vocabulary usage, and conversational skills, enabling students to communicate effectively in Classical Arabic.
Overall, a Classical Arabic course for non-Arabic speakers aims to provide a solid foundation in the Arabic language, enabling students to read, write, listen, speak, and understand Classical Arabic.
The Second Stage:
Students who successfully complete the first stage will continue to the 2nd Year of the course in which they will focuses on grammar: Nahw & Sarf; sentence structure along with the continuous process of building vocabulary, translation, and comprehension.
